Universal Preschool Policy conversations are pushing Colorado stakeholders to grapple with important questions about the state’s early care and education (ECE) system. As a subcommittee devoted to the workforce, we want to lean into two important goals:
More explicit agreement about where the workforce/professional development system is headed (and why) in the near future for UPP in 2023, and with a longer view out to 2030.
Continue aligning/combining pre-existing systems of preparation and support for the workforce in order to simplify pathways that build toward degrees and increase compensation.
Recognizing that the workforce/professional development system can help to advance meaningful collaboration for the entire ECE system, the ECLC Early Childhood Workforce Development Subcommittee will convene a focus group(s) to “connect the dots” and elevate the considerations, opportunities and challenges identified by our group to policy and decision makers.
