Description: The Director of the Marsico Institute for Early Learning and Literacy (MIELL) provides overall leadership and guidance for the operations of the Institute. Responsibilities include developing and implementing a strategic plan with annual and long term goals; ensuring that all work of the Institute aligns with the Institute’s mission and meets high standards for quality; and developing and managing the overall budget for the Institute, as well as the budgets for individual externally funded projects. The Director is also responsible for hiring, supervising and supporting the Institute staff.
The Director is also a responsible for ensuring the sustainability of the MIELL by creating and developing opportunities and projects for the MIELL, in collaboration with Institute staff and Morgridge College of Education (MCE) faculty, overseeing the development and submission of proposals for externally funded projects, and managing donor relationships and communications.
This is a 12-month appointment. The Director serves as the institute representative in the MCE, serves on MCE committees, and may teach graduate courses within the College. The individual in this position will hold an appointment in the college as a clinical-series faculty member. Rank will be determined by the college, dean, and provost at the time of offer.
