The Program Specialist, ESSS is the on-the-ground Save the Children (SC) staff member providing technical and management assistance to partners to ensure the effective coordination, implementation and monitoring of early childhood education programming in the Alamosa Colorado area. Under the supervision of the Senior ECD Specialist and working as a team member within the State based staff, the Program Specialist oversees the implementation of the integrated programming at approximately 8 to 10 partner sites. (The number of sites will vary by location and the levels of guidance and support required to partners will vary depending on the specific needs of the partner.) Specific responsibilities include coordinating with the Senior ECD Specialist & State based staff to identify new partner sites and conduct site assessments; guiding new partners through the start-up process of the programs; providing training and technical assistance to partners to ensure high-quality programs; monitoring partner progress and performance to ensure that they are achieving program objectives; consulting with Senior ECD Specialist, State team members as needed, to resolve complex issues; and, ensuring compliance with subgrant terms and conditions.

Responsibilities
•Training and Technical Assistance: Visit each assigned site on an as needed basis, supporting partners as they implement the ESSS program. This involves training and technical assistance to the EC Coordinators on a regular basis. Focus is on early language and literacy and parenting education fo ages 0 to 3.
•Operations and Management Assistance: This includes annual partner planning and budget, orienting partners on their signed agreements, logistical support, and identifying operational needs of partners and arranging for support.
•Partner Progress and Performance Monitoring
•New Site Start Up: Assist in identifying new sites, site assessments and start up.

Requirements
Bachelors Degree (Masters highly preferred) in Early Chilhood, Child Development or related field, experience with ages 0 to 3, 3 plus years training experience, experience with home visitations, must be willing to travel 50% in Central and SE Colorado, strong communication and computer skills also required.
